Bill and Melinda Gates’ announcement of their split Monday caught many by surprise when they said they believed they could no longer grow together.
The two had been together for 27 years running their foundation.
But insiders close to the two say the split may be bitter than it was portrayed adding that they had had differences for a long time.
An insider claimed that Bill and Melinda stayed together for the sake of their children and only chose to end their relationship once their youngest daughter turned 18 September last year.
The other two children are Rory, 21, and Jennifer, 25.
