
Police in Kisumu have arrested five people during an operation to flush out suspects said to have sneaked into Kisumu.
County Police Commander Samuel Anampiu said three suspects were arrested in Ahero while two were nabbed in Kombewa.
The suspects who had Pakistani passports had been in the country for long and were being tracked by the Anti-Terror police Unit for suspicious activity.
The operation saw motorists stranded on the Kisumu-Nairobi highway as the police mounted roadblocks to track the terrorists.
It was established that the suspects were travelling from Busia border in a public service vehicle before a search was mounted by a multi-agency team comprising of ATPU and the Directorate of Criminal Investigation.
