
At least 100 were pulled from Ganges river in India as a deadly second wave of Covid-19 continues to sweep through the Country.
Over 40 bodies were discovered after they washed up on the banks of the river at the border between the states of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.
The BBC reported that 50 more bodies were also discovered in the same river in Gahmar, Uttar Pradesh in Northern India.
The origin of the bodies was yet to be established but local media reports India claimed they could be victims of Covid-19.
Locals had been complaining about the smell from the river but officials only took action after reports reached the media.
India has recorded 22 million Covid-19 cases with close to 250,000 deaths.
