Police in Suna East, Migori County have arrested a man after he allegedly killed his daughter who had ran away from home.
Reports indicate that Nicholas Odhiambo Magolo beat his daughter Mary Atieno,15, who he accused of having a habit of running away from home.
Odhiambo is said to have traced his daughter to Uriri Sub-county on Saturday May 15, where she had run away to and resorted to discipline her.
According to Ogwedhi area chief Kennedy Ochanda, the class six girl at Ogwedhi Primary school succumbed to beatings from his father on the fateful Saturday.
Ochanda explained that the girls father tied her onto a tree where he beat her unconscious before she was rushed to a local clinic Sunday, for examination.
The chief said it was then that the 15 year old collapsed, succumbing to to injuries sustained from the beating by her father the previous day.
Ochanda said he had gotten reports from the man’s neighbours who said he was displeased with his daughters habit of always running away from home.
The man is being held at Ogwedhi Police Station awaiting arraignment in court.
