Spread the Word

Deputy President William Ruto has come out set the record straight in regard to the list of his properties revealed by Interior CS Fred Matiang’i during a Parliamentary committee meeting.

Speaking at his Karen Residence, Nairobi County on Thursday, September 2, Ruto disputed the ownership of about 70% of the property that was listed by CS Matiang’i.

While chiding Matiang’i, the DP stated that some key details were not included on the list, terming it a faulty ‘lifestyle audit.’

“They included properties that I do not own on the list, so allow me to correct them. Out of the ten properties listed, 70 percent are true, the others are false. “The first on the list that they need to remove is the 10,000 acre ADC Laikipia Mutara Ranch. They also forgot to add that I have 400,000 shares from a local telco company,” he stated.

Ruto added that Matiang’i ought to have stated that his chicken farm consists of 200,000 chicken that produces 150,000 eggs daily, which tallies to an average of Ksh1.5 million from the sales.

“They forgot to add that I own 80,000 shares in Kenya Airways. They should also add the security personnel guarding them,” Ruto stated ,amidst wild cheers from the crowd.

The DP pointed out that the lifestyle audit ought to be carried out to other political figures within the country.

He noted that Matiang’i’s attempt to discredit the hustler nation in Parliament failed as it only proved that an individual from a humble background could rise up and become successful.

During the Parliamentary meeting held on Wednesday, September 1, Matiang’i added that the DP’s office has the highest number of security with a total of 257 officers, unlike all his predecessors.

The CS also listed some of the alleged DP’s properties guarded by security officers. They include Kitengela Gas Company, Murumbi Farm in Transmara (395 Hectares), ADC Laikipia Mutara Ranch, Dolphine Hotel in Mombasa (3 Hectares), Mata Farm in Taita Taveta (1,026 Hectares).

Others were, Weston Hotel in Nairobi County, a private residence in Elgon View, Eldoret, Koitalel Poultry Farm in Eldoret, and another private residence in Kosachei in Eldoret and Kwale Island Development Limited in Wilson Airport
