Spread the Word

Weston Hotel sits on public land opposite Wilson Airport belonging to KCAA.

Word on the demolition of Weston Hotel in Nairobi sparked mixed reactions from Kenyans on the eve of Wednesday October 6, 2021.

This is after Kapseret MP posted photos of a truck carrying a bulldozer and claimed plans to demolish the hotel. The hotel belongs to Deputy President William Ruto.

Sudi claimed the ‘cornered deep state’ were behind the demolition plans.

“”The Deep State are indeed cornered. They have today decided to express their fury by demolishing Weston Hotel,” Sudi said in the tweet

Blogger Abraham Mutai was among the first Kenyans to react to the demolition of Weston Hotel. The sharp critic of DP Ruto tweeted that the hotel sits on grabbed land belonging to government.

Evans Miloo Ruto on the other hand disputed the demolition of the hotel. He urged Kenyans to pray as Weston Hotel was ‘safe.’

But others were quick to castigate Sudi and his Lang’ata counterpart Nixon Korir for creating fake stories about the demolition.

“Outgoing Langata MP Nixon Korir and outgoing Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi created fake stories about the attempt demolition of Weston Hotel. I guess the two desperados were high on something. Their prayers should be answered on behalf of their master. #RutoFailedProject” tweeted Ronoh Cornelius (Kipchumba)
