Nyanza leaders should retreat to the grassroot, mobilize voters to aid Raila Presidency – Anyanga

Hon. Edick Anyanga

Former Nyatike MP Edick Anyanga has urged local leaders to come to the grassroot and mobilize voter registration.

Anyanga said more voters into the current Nyanza basket would help Raila Odinga ascend to presidency.

He said the leaders only focused on their positions and did less to popularize Raila’s agenda of becoming president.

The former legislator said the leaders had no option but to fall inline behind the ODM party leader, since even President Kenyatta had ‘endorsed’ him.

Anyanga who currently sits in the NG-CDF board as a director, also castigated leaders who claimed to already have the ODM certificates.

He said their utterances were unfortunate and would likely lead to voter apathy.

This, he said, was also tainting the ODM party in bad light.

This comes as mass voter registration by the IEBC continues across the country.

The process was launched on October 4 and runs up to November 2, 2021.
