UPDATE

Timothy Maneno emerged winner in the Nguu/Masumba by-election. Returning officer Maureen Oyaro said Maneno gannered 2902 votes to clinch the seat.

UDA’s Musau bagged 2219 votes while Mwaiwa of Wiper managed 1614 votes.

Maneno lost his seat in the 2017 general election together with 28 other MCA in Makueni county.

The former Teachers Service Commission officer also served as councilor between 1997 and 2003.

Maneno win is largely attributed to Makueni governor Kivutha Kibwana and Chief of Staff Machakos, Mwengi Mutuse support, among others.

He promised to work with his rivals, asking them to share the ideas they had for Nguu/Masumba ward.
