Uriri Man attacked by family after claims he killed kin using ‘Black Magic’

URIRI – Police in Uriri, Migori County are investigating an incident where family members attacked a man over claims he killed his kin.

Irate family members torched his property claiming that he killed their fellow kin using black magic.

The man however managed to escape but the family members burnt clothes, bedding, among other valuables he left behind.

According to area Chief John Ojwang, family members of the in his late 30s attacked him Monday night following the “mysterious” death of another family.

Ojwang’ said the deceased died in his house a week ago.

But the administrator said they are yet to establish the the truth behind the allegations adding that the probe is still on.

The chied however said whereabouts of the man is still unknown since fleeing from the attack. He added that he was optimistic that he would come forward soon and record a statement with the police.

The kin that allegedlt died from black magic was buried on October 17, 2021.

This comes just days after the lynching of elderly women and a man in Kisii in connection with witchcraft.
