Kenyans mark Mashujaa Day by celebrating citizens who have excelled in their respective field. Each year, the president honours different mashujaa (heroes) from across the country for excelling in their fields.

This year, Mashujaa day 2021, is no different as President Uhuru Kenyatta honoured 220 Kenyans, from sportsmen to community leaders.

This is the 57 edition of Mashujaa day, a day that changed from Kenyatta Day under the 2010 constitution.

Omanyala came into the limelight during the 2021 Tokyo Olympics where he finished fourth in the 100 meters race.
