Kenya’s Harambee Starlets in Action at the AWCON

NAIROBI – South Sudan’s Bright Starlets suffered in the hands of magical Harambee Starlets in their first round of Africa Women Cup of Nations Qualifiers (AWCON).

This is as the Kenyans side’s humiliating 8-0 defeat at Nyayo Stadium yesterday October 20, 2021.

Neddy Akoth opened the scoresheet for Harambee Starlets in the 2nd minute but scored again two minutes later. Akoth then confirmed a hat trick in the 34th minute with another beautiful goal.

Jentrix Shikangwa closed first half scores with her goal in the 39th minute closing the half at 4-0.

In the second half, Akoth hungry for goals, scored two more goals in the 56th and 62nd minutes.

But still not content with the huge goal margin, Mwanahalima Adam beautifully sent in the seventh goals for Kenya at the 65 minute mark.

Jentrix Shikangwa got her brace as she beat the goalkeeper to bag the eighth goal in the 72nd minute, sealing the full-time scores at 8-0.

Harambee Starlets return leg against South Sudan’s Bright Starlets is on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at the Nyayo Stadium.
