Made in Kitui: County showcase at the Devolution Conference 2021 in Makueni

DevCon2021Kutui Governor Charity Kaluki Ngilu wowed Kenyans when she posted on her timeline items produced in the county.

This included items from the leather, textile, food and beverage as well as pharma industries from the county.

The items are on display at the Devolution Conference 2021 in Makueni County.

According to governor Ngilu, the items came from a range of industries established, some under her regime.

The governor first posted school shoes, that looked similar to Bata, but made in Kitui.

In her post, Ngilu said Kitui leather industry also produces leather bags, balls and belts.

“We are live and displaying various Kitui products at the Devolution Conference 2021 in Makueni,” said Ngilu.

Products from Kitui Pharma Industries

Pharmaceutical

Kitui has established a pharmaceutical industry that produces Hand wash, Antiseptic, Fumigant and Hand sanitizer.

According to Ngilu, the pharma industry also produces Formalin, Regular and color bleach, Methylated spirit among others.

Kitui Sugarcane wine

Food and beverage

The semi-arid county produces sugarcane and honey wine in this category.

Governor Ngilu revealed that a popular local drink ‘Kaluvu’, was also in display at the county booth in Makueni.

Kitui Textile Centre (KICOTEC)

Textile

The Kitui Textile Centre (KICOTEC) is not left behind at the devolution conference 2021 with a range of items.
