Deputy President William Ruto meeting was temporarily disrupted Sunday January 16 after rowdy youth stormed the meeting.
Youth chanting pro Embakasi East MP Babu Owino slogans briefly took over the event organised by UDA.
“Tunataka Babu, hatutaki pesa” chants rent the air as the group jumped up and down while other ran around in a plan to disrupt the meeting.
But their plans were temporarily halted as police lobbed teargas to scatter the charge crowd.
Chaos were witnessed for a while as crowds dispersed after teargas was lobbed at the crowd, leaving the venue empty.
Calm however returned and the a small crowd made back to the venue as leaders continued addressing them.
Un undeterred Deputy President William Ruto however alleged that the violence was planned by ODM leader Raila Odinga.
Ruto also mentioned a similar incident last year in Kondele, Kisumu that he also blamed on the ODM leader.
In the incident, photos emerged of several cars in the DP Ruto with smashed windows and vandalised parts.
But ODM countered the claims saying DP Ruto and his allies organised the violence on themselves to gain sympathy from voters.
