Kirinyaga Women Rep. Ngirici Ignores UDA, Azimio La Umoja for new ticket

Kirinyanga County women representative Wangui Ngirici Sunday January 16 made a major political statement getting supporters and opponents unawares.

Ngirici who ditched UDA and seemed to form new dalliance with Azimio La Umoja said she will vie for Kirinyaga governor seat on Independent ticket.

The women representative on Jubilee Party cut ties with UDA after her opponent, Governor Anne Waiguru joined the alliance.

Ngirici however warned her opponents not to insult her for not associating herself with any political party going forward.

In a salvo aimed at Deputy President William Ruto, Ngirici said it is the ‘village’ parties that others win later this year.

“Hiyo ni intolerance ambayo watu wako nayo, hiyo kujipiga kifua ati wengine wako kwenye village parties,” said Ngirici.

While declaring to run on Independent ticket, Ngirici said this will enable her negotiate for Kirinyaga with an open mind.

“First of all I must be able to negotiate with an independent mind for the people of Kirinyanga county,” said the women representative.

She however vowed to remained unshaken by “insults” from her opponents.
