New show replacing Zora at Citizen TV

After airing for nearly a year, a new show is lined up, replacing the popular show Zora at Citizen TV.

A highly placed source at the Kilimani-based TV Station said that the show would end in a few weeks.

He further noted that the broadcaster was angling towards a new show dubbed Sultana which is expected to pick up as a fan’s favourite, and replacing Zora at Citizen TV.

“There is another show coming called Sultana (to replace Zora). Zora will be ending in the next few weeks,” stated a source familiar to the matter.

Launched in March 2021, the show became a cult-hit with romantic drama fans across the country uniting two former Tahidi High actors Sarah Hassan as the titular star and Jacky Matubia of Jolene fame.

The hit show aired between from Monday to Friday from 7:30 pm to 8 pm.

On her Facebook page, Sarah Hassan thanked her cast as well as fans for taking part in the year-long run that the show experienced.

“It’s been an absolute pleasure working with such amazing people. Thank you Lulu Hassan and Rashid Abdalla for the opportunity to bring Zora to life,” she noted.

Matubia, on the other hand, thanked her producers for choosing her to play the role of Nana.

“It was amazing playing the role Nana. It’s a bitter sweet feeling taking a bow but I hope you learned something from our story. It’s always a pleasure telling this story. It’s never goodbye it’s see you soon,” She wrote.

Citizen TV has already released the trailer of the upcoming Sultana show featuring a prominent Coastal landscape and enough supply of tears signaling an emotional journey.

The show will air in the same prime time slot as Zora.
