President Uhuru Kenyatta Sunday May 30 landed in Kisumu ahead the 58th Madaraka Day celebrations and a three-day working tour of the Nyanza region.
President Uhuru was received by ODM leader Raila Odinga, Kisumu Governor Anyang Nyong’o and other leaders at Kisumu International Airport.
The President will later be joined by his Burundi counterpart Evariste Ndayishimiye for the country’s Madaraka Day celebration and tour of Government projects in the region.
Ndayishimiye will land in Kisumu City on Monday, May 31
This year’s celebrations will be held at the new Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium in Kisumu County.
In his visit, Uhuru will officially launch the Kisumu port and the Uhuru business market which was constructed to accommodate traders who were displaced from the Kibuye market to pave way for it to be built to an ultra-modern market.
