Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha banned success cards to examination candidates bearing political portraits.

This is even as candidates prepare for their KCSE and KCPE exams set for March this year.

The ban came as the country also gears up for the general election.

Prof. Magoha’s ban came in anticipation of politicians taking advantage of the political period to campaign using success cards.

Speaking in Kakamega, Prof. Magoha urged county commissioners and education officials to destroy any success cards with political portraits.

The Education CS said the learners were not involved in politics thus don’t need political messages in success cards.

“Ensure that you destroy any success messages sent to students bearing political portraits without fear or favour. Our children are not in politics they are just children,” said Magoha.

He was speaking at Mwiyala Secondary School during the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Competency-Based Curriculum(CBC) classrooms.
