Grandson to former President the late president Daniel Arap Moi Collins Kibet Toroitich Moi has been kicked out of his house and is staying on the streets.

This is after he failed to pay a rent arrears of his house amounting to Ksh240,000.

This arises even as the 45-year-old seeks to get a share of his father Jonathan Kipkemboi Moi’s wealth.

According to Kibet, he has not been able to pay rent for the last six months, which is Ksh40,000 per month.

“The deceased’s first house, where Collins comes from, is not being provided for and is not among the administrators. He was evicted from the house on Friday and is now on the streets. It is saddening considering the nature of the estate. The estate is actively being dealt with although the grant for letters of administration has not been confirmed. Funds are coming in (to the estate) and there is no accountability. He is the eldest son of the deceased,” he told the court.

The president Moi grandson has accused his stepmother Sylvia Cherotich and stepbrother Clint Kiprono of failing to provide for him despite him being a dependent of the estate.

He also argues that he should benefit since he is a biological child of Jonathan. Sylvia and Clint are the administrators of the estate.

The now homeless man says that his grandfather had wealth worth over Ksh300 billion spread across the world, including the United Kingdom, Australia and Malawi.

“The respondent/executrix (lawyer Zehrabhanu Janmohamed) has maliciously and unlawfully attempted to disinherit and defraud me out of my beneficial share of the deceased’s estate by intentionally excluding me as a beneficiary of the deceased’s estate, despite all the material times being well aware that I am the eldest biological grandchild of the deceased,” said Collins in court papers.

He further argues that at the time Sylvia and Clint were appointed administrators, he was not consulted despite being Jonathan’s eldest son.
