Nomination fees for ODM, UDA and Other parties

ODM UDA parties nomination fees

ODM, UDA, Wiper and other political parties have announced how much they will be charging in nomination fees for different positions ahead of the August 9 elections.

Political parties will be conducting nominations across the country and paying nomination fees for aspirants is a requirement.

The nomination fees paid by aspirants in ODM, UDA or wiper varies and it goes into the planning and logistics for the political parties.

With this, several parties have released rules for their primaries and the nomination fees they are charging aspirants to contest in the primaries.

Here is what the parties are charging aspirants seeking nominations:

Jubilee Party

The ruling party is not fielding any presidential candidate during this years general election.

Governor post: Male governor aspirants are supposed to pay Ksh500,000 while female governor aspirants are supposed to pay Ksh250,000.

Senator post: Female aspirants here will pay Ksh125,000 while their male counterparts will pay Ksh250,000.

Member of Parliament post: Male MP aspirants will pay Ksh100,000.

Women Representative: Aspirants for this position will be charged Ksh200,000.

MCA: Male aspirants for Member of County Assembly will be charged Ksh50,000.

Female MCA’s will be charged Ksh25,000.

Additionally, the party indicated that People Living With Disability (PLWD) will not be charged any nomination fees.

Orange Democratic Movement 

Governor post: Just like Jubilee, ODM will charge Male governor aspirants Ksh500,000 while female governor aspirants are supposed to pay Ksh250,000.

Deputy Governor: ODM is among the few parties that will charge potential deputy governors.

Male deputy governors will pay Ksh250,000 while female deputy governor aspirants will pay Ksh125,000.

Senator post: ODM will charge female aspirants here will pay Ksh125,000 while their male counterparts will pay Ksh250,000.

Member of Parliament post: Male MP aspirants will pay Ksh100,000.

Women Representative: Aspirants for this position will be charged Ksh200,000.

MCA: Male aspirants for Member of County Assembly will be charged Ksh50,000.

Female MCA’s and other aspirants will be charged Ksh25,000.

United Democratic Alliance (UDA) 

President: UDA’s presidential aspirants such as DP William Ruto will part with Ksh1,000,000 while female and youth aspirants will pay Ksh500,000.

Governor: Male gubernatorial aspirants will part with Ksh500,000 while other contestants will part with Ksh250,000.

Senator: Senatorial aspirants will pay Ksh250,000  while other contestants will pay  Ksh125,000.

MP: Male parliamentary contestants will part with Ksh200,000 while other aspirants will be charged Ksh125,000. These charges also apply to Women Representative aspirants.

MCA: Male aspirants for MCAs position in the party will part with Ksh50,000 while other aspirants will pay half of their male counterparts.

Wiper Party

President: As Wiper party’s flagbearer, will part with Ksh1,000,000.

Governor: Male governor aspirants will part with Ksh500,000

Senator: Senator aspirants are supposed to pay Ksh200,000. Their female counterparts will pay Ksh150,000.

MP: Members of parliament will pay same fee as Senators. Female MPs are to pay Ksh150,000.

Women Representatives will part with Ksh200,000. Youth aspirants will pay Ksh100,000.

MCA: Male MCA’s will pay Ksh50,000 while females will Ksh.25,000.
