UDA Nominations Biggest Losers

The UDA Party conducted its nationwide nominations of Thursday April 14, 2022 ahead of the August General election.

The UDA nomination exercise took place in 36 counties with atleast 5000 people taking part in the voting.

Data also shows that about 888 elective seats were being contested.

49,811 election officials supervised the exercise in 16,513 polling centers across the country.

And with the voticng closing by the end of the day and vote tallying done, some vocal leaders in the UDA lost in their bid to fly the party flag.

Among the biggest losers in the UDA Nominations are the harshest and vocal critics of ODM and Azimio La Umoja Raila Odinga.

As at the time of going to press and no official list issued yet, but below is a list that was circulation on social media based on UDA nominations preliminary results.

1. Charles Keter – Former CS devolution.

He served as a CS in the current government from 2013 before resigning this year to vie for Kericho Governor post.

2. Caleb Kositany – MP soy.

He is the current MP for Soy constituency in Uasin Gishu County.

3. Patrick Wainaina Jungle – MP Thika town

Threw himself into the Senate race as he completes his two year governor term in Uasin Gishu

5. Peris Tobiko – MP Kajiado East.

6. Wilson Sossion – Former KNUT Secretary General.

He was nominated by ODM as a Member of Parliament.

7. Isack Mwaura – Nominated senator

He was nominated by by Jubilee Party before he switched sides to UDA

9. Cate Waruguru – Women Representative Laikipia

10. John Mossonik – Principal Secretary

11. Paul Mwirigi – Igembe South MP

IGEMBE South MP John Paul Mwirigi was given direct UDA ticket as party leadership settles on consensus. This proved the rumours wrong.

12. Wilson Kogo – MP Chesumei

He lost to Eldoret based businessman Paul Biego.

13. Cornely Serem – MP Aldai

He lost to Maryanne Kitany, former chief of staff at the office of the Deputy President.

14. Vincent Tuwei – MP Mosop

Abraham Kirwa won the UDA party ticket.

15.James Murgor – Keiyo North MP

He lost ot Kipchumba Murkomen aid. Adams Kipsanai trounced Dr Murgor in the UDA party primaries held on Thursday.

Kipsanai garnered 6,523 while Dr Murgor got 6,383 in the hotly contested race.
