Nairobi – A top student in the 2020 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education used to study in the toilet to improve his performance.

Allan Wasonga, who emerged second in the results released Monday while speaking to Citizen TV, said he could only study best at night and the only place available was the toilet.

Wasonga who scored an A of 87.173 said he was forced to use the small room because his mother used to complain of light in the house at night.

The former Agoro Sare high school student said he continued to have doubts about himself despite putting himself to read in the toilet.

The student who had ambitions of studying medicine said his teachers began having faith in him in Form Three as they kept telling him that he would emerge among top in the country in KCSE.

747,161 students sat for their KCSE 2020 examinations and 143,140 of them qualified to join university after obtaining the minimum grade of C+.
