The sorry state of Kenya’s football has once again been exposed after a photo of a ball football club Kisumu Hot Stars were using in their National Super League games.

A Facebook user shared a photo of a completely defaced ball that the Kisumu town based club travelled with for their match against Migori Youth FC in Migori town.

In his post aimed at highlighting the financial woes bedeviling Kisumu Hot Stars, the user acknowledged that times were hard for the team but urged that they try and replace the ball.

“Kisumu Hotstars Hali sio hali bt mjikaze kiasi.. hi ball haiwezi,” he stated.

Payuka has also learnt of a 30 minute delay in the Kick-Off of the match between Kisumu Hot Stars and Migori Youth FC on June 2, 2021 in Migori town, as the Kisumu side delayed in remitting referee fee that was sent after numerous calls.

An insider also hinted to us that the lack of funds at the club had cost the club, especially during away games as most of their “good” players opted not to travel.

It’s now a wait and see if well-wishers will come out to at least buy the club new balls to replace the old ones that were issued by Football Kenya Federation at the start of the season.
