The family of Kenya’s first Attorney General, Sir Charles Njonjo, has now come out to dismiss reports of his death.
The family, in a statement to newsrooms on Sunday, termed the rumors as a great exaggeration.
Njonjo now 102 years old, according to the release, is alive and – matter of factly – enjoying his weekend at home.
“Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated. I am well and enjoying my weekend at home as we celebrate Utamaduni Day,” read the statement.
Rumors of Njonjo’s death first hit the streets of social media on Saturday evening.
Many Kenyans fell victim to the unverified reports. This includes former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko who sent his condolences to the family.
