ISIOLO – ODM leader Raila Odinga was in Isiolo where he championed for his Azimio La Umoja campaign.

This is just a day after a successful meeting in Deputy President William Ruto’s backyarrd, Eldoret, yesterday.

Raila’s entourage drove into Isiolo town in usual style where reggae music was blasting through public address speakers.

Visibly happy residents could not resist but dance to the tunes, men and women alike.

Raila was hosted by Isiolo governor Mohammed Kuti and Treasury CS Ukur Yatani. The opposition leader met locals and their leaders where they discussed several issues affecting the region.

But Eldas MP Adan Keynan tweeted that the meeting was geared toward uplifting the regions development.

According to the MP, Raila’s visit was in line with UPYA party’s blue print to engage presidential hopefuls in pre-election negotiations.

Keynan said leaders used the meeting to push the arid and semi-arid (ASAL) priority plan to the national agenda.

“This is an ingredient of UPYA’s broad and strategic blueprint to engage presidential luminaries in robust pre-election negotiations that strive to unlock and build a more viable and collective tide for regional development,” tweeted Keynan.

In other news, the region’s politics took center stage as governor Kuti’s rivalry with his predecessor, Doyo Godana played out.

Residents demanded former governor Doyo speak to them while Suna East MP was speaking to the crowd.
