Former Kariobangi Sharks Star Ovella Ochieng’ Signs New International Contract

Former Kariobangi Sharks Star Ovella Ochieng will join Botswana’s Township Rollers, the clubs announced Wednessday, January 12.

According to the club, Ochieng joined on a one-year contract from South Africa’s Marumo Gallants.

The winger is set to boost Rollers attacking options and bolster the teams position in Botswana.

Ochieng also previously played for Vasalund in Sweden and Marumo Gallants in South Africa.

But Ochieng’ did not accrue any minutes in South Africa as he did not appear for the club in any competitive games.

The youngster got to the club following an advert they placed on Tuesday for the position of a professional player.

Township Rollers wanted players with a minimum of five senior national team caps.

The advert stated that the players ought to have also played in the youth national teams.

“Township Rollers FC wishes to announce the signing of Ovella Ochieng on a one year contract,” reads the post in part.

“The 22 year old (born December 23 1999) forward is a Kenyan International with ten caps for his senior national team. He will add onto our attacking options”

“Ochieng previously played for Kariobangi Sharks in Kenya, Vasalund in Sweden and Marumo Gallants in South Africa”
